The mock website had arrived and looked phenomenal on Brooke’s computer. The banner was a wide picture of the town of Crystal, with Caleb and Ethan standing elbow to elbow in the middle. Steven had chosen a brown and green fall color scheme, which Brooke thought matched the town perfectly.

“This is beautiful,” she said, clicking through all the different tabs Steven created. “I may have him remake my website after this!”

“It’s fancy,” Ethan said over her shoulder. “Like, way fancy.”

Brooke clicked on the About Us tab, bringing up the photos she had taken. Ethan held onto Meredith's hand, and Caleb stood, his hands in his pockets with a slight smile.

“Oh, you picked good ones.” Ethan gently punched Brooke’s shoulder, making her body rock to the side.

“Do you wanna see?” Brooke asked Caleb, who had kept to the counter.

Ethan stood up straight and gave Caleb a huge thumbs up. “You’re going to like it.”

Caleb came around and leaned over Brooke's shoulder. “Whoa,” he said, taking a look at the screen. “This is not what I was picturing.”

“Is that a good thing?” Brooke asked, leaning her body to look at Caleb behind her.

“That's a great thing.” He took control of Brooke’s small mouse and began to click through all the tabs. Steven had created a menu, complete with Home, About Us, Tours and Pricing, and History. Caleb clicked on History. “Why is it blank?”

Brooke bobbed her shoulders. “Well, that’s where research and photos come in. I have a bunch of photos to send him, but do you have a history of the town you can gather? You two know a lot about it. I can send it over as soon as possible so he can upload it.”

Caleb looked toward Ethan.

“On it.” Ethan pointed up, like he was struck with an idea and then went to pull paper from the printer.

“See? He’s so into it now,” Caleb muttered. He turned back to Brooke and took a seat next to her, the chair scratching across the wood flooring. “How did the talk go with Rhonda?”

Brooke shrugged. “She wasn’t there.” She turned to her computer and clicked on the About Us tab, wanting to see Caleb’s photo again. “Joyce said she would be back this afternoon, so…” Brooke clenched her teeth and turned to face Caleb. “We may have to push the mine trip to tomorrow. I don’t know what Rhonda is going to say about my pages.”

Caleb reached over and moved a stray piece of hair behind her ear, locking her gaze. “Not a problem. That’s more important than a trip to the mine.” Quickly touching his thumb and forefinger to her chin, Caleb stood up, sticking his hands in his pockets. Brooke wished once again she knew him better, to be able to tell if he was hurt or not by the sudden change in plans. Smiling at him, she turned back to her computer. “But,” Caleb said, making her turn back to him, “promise me we can go tomorrow?”

She leaned toward him. “It’s a date.
